    Greetings!
    02/08/07
Happy Birthday, Annie!!! It's hard to believe you are all grown up. Sgt. Bill's phone call was cool, hm? And I hope you get your new camera. I know that the health insurance was expensive, and will be, actually -- unless you marry somebody really rich, or in the military, or just get lucky and have a job that has great benefits... but you are SUCH a good photographer, you should continue to challenge yourself.
And wasn't if great in Sign Language when we all signed "Happy Birthday!" to you? Neato.

As an assignment in CIOS 256 (Internet Design) I made a blog. Blog stands for "WebLog" and it's just kinda like a journal without all the work of making it into a webpage yourself. Some let you put pictures right in your blogs. I haven't tried that with this one yet, but I think it does, too. The web address is: http://ddourte.blogspot.com/ if you want to check it out.
In sign language we will be making a phone call to our instructor using the Alaska Relay System and she will type responses which will be read to us through the... the... oh there is a word for it, I took it down in notes. Anyway it's somebody who has the equipment, they read her response and tell us what she said. My notes are out of reach for the moment, but I'll post more about that on my Sign Language page with my other school info.
Other news; I'm working on renderings for character make-up for a production to be performed by Dance Theatre Fairbanks. This is different from the "usual" ballet makeup because only two of the characters are human out of a cast of over sixty. It will be such a delightful challenge -- mice, rabbits, birds, Mr. Mole, sprites, butterflies, bugs and toads... well, the toads have masks... Here's where I am with the mice so far:
The most pressing complication I can foresee is that some performers have more than one character role. This could be a problem if the scenes are close together, so we'll have to be flexible with it all. (cracking my knuckles) Ahhhh, I love a challenge!
