  Remember Your Mom

May 8, 2006
Final examinations Monday-Thursday, May 8-11
They weren't too bad, all things considered. Not as stressful as I expected. Perhaps it gets more difficult as classes get more involved. We'll see!

The snow is all gone... it's been a wet spring, but the green is just starting to peep out. It started greening on Mother's Day, which is later than last year. The mosquitos seem to be hungrier this year too -- and HUGER.

Wow. Another birthday. They're happening so often now, I wonder if they aren't twice a year. I'm certainly feeling old and decrepit enough to be 102! We already celebrated with dinner at Denny's following Emily's Dance Arts Academy recital. Don't have pictures this year -- no budget for them, and we weren't allowed to take photos during the performance. We do have a snapshot of Emily in her self-made school-girl costume (well, put-together, we didn't SEW it, except for alterations)...
I don't have any great expectations for the coming year, except I DO want to get over this darned cough once and for all... it's a pain in the patootie. If I was a smoker, I would DESERVE it... but I'm not so (stomping foot) it's not FAIR. Anyway. Time to enjoy the summer, I hope. Before winter hits again... not to mention we have to come up with 1700 dollars for fuel oil used this LAST winter. Heh. Terrorism takes its toll in more ways then violent action -- it has eaten at the well-being of any family who has had to sacrifice a significantly larger chunk of change for energy. The prices are inflated and that is that -- there is NO REASON. It is PURE GREED. Makes me angry. GRRRR.
