One Day at a Time

January 1, 2006
We spent the day with Shannon and Chris, relaxing. Blackeyed peas and cornbread were the fare of the day...
...but the fork is faster than the camera!
Billy stowed his suitcase where Sally usually has her bed. She made herself comfortable anyway!

Today we had our family portraits made at The Smile House in San Marcos. It was a blast and the photos are outstanding.
The Smile House was voted Best Photography in Hays County 2005. We think it's the best in the world!
After the photographing, we had lunch with Rose, Shannon and the littles at Bennegin's in the Outlet Mall area. The food was great, but the place wasn't very clean. (Wrinkling nose) There were a couple of places like that in Texas, which surprised me.

          Rose's Birthday, Happy birthday Rose!
We had dinner at Enchiladas y Muy, and it was very tasty.
January 7, 2006
Drove back to Cathy's house. Packed like crazy people for our departure on Monday.
January 8, 2006
Today we drove to Canton and were delighted to visit with Darlene and her son Dustin at Ronny's house. Billy and Emily hadn't ever met any of this branch of my family, and Bill hadn't met Dustin or Ronny's kids Ethan and Elayne.
We had a nice visit and Elayne helped Darlene fix spaghetti and meatsauce for dinner, with garlic bread. Great job!
Then we watched a little of the football playoffs on TV. It was too soon before we had to drive back to Cathy's and pack some more to go back to Alaska.
January 16, 2006
Brrr, it is COLD out there. The girls and I planned to go to a movie today but with it this cold, we wouldn't want to leave the car sitting without a plug in. Emily has Dance class today. TODAY? On "Alaska Civil Rights" Day? She's dedicated. Either that, or mistaken. Anyway, it's COLD.

Hey! I start college today with my daughters! What a neat day today is.
I'm not exactly nervous, I'm excited. I love to learn so I hope I will enjoy this experience. And keep your fingers crossed. My student loans haven't exactly gone through yet... and I'm counting on them.
