September 16, 2005
Yeah, I know the 15th is missing. I worked. It was mostly fun. I'm busy, swamped, you know the routine. No time to post, etc. But today?
Today I have the day off, except for the monthly Deacon Wive's Lunch and dance class tonight with Bill. LOTS of catching up to do with the housekeeping and laundry. The neat thing is I have off the whole weekend, too! So I can sew maybe? I hope sew! (so!)
September 17, 2005
| Dance class last night was lots of fun! We did better this week. It feels sort of like we're beginning to "get" it. Next payday I will need to get some dance shoes with heels, because I'm a little bit short for Bill to try and go under when he is supposed to. We still get tangled up or out of step once in awhile, but just laugh and keep going. |
|
It's really good exercise for us and I sort of wish we could dance at least two or three times a week for a solid hour, but there just isn't time for that. Oh well, it is fun for the Fridays and that's great!
Today Annie went to the Eielson Homecoming game with Kristy. They won, so of course that was lots of fun. She saw some of her former teachers and pals so now everybody knows she's home.
Emily went to see what is up with Babes in Toyland the production Dance Theatre Fairbanks is doing this holiday season. She didn't try out because of a schedule conflict with her other goings-on.
She decided to be an understudy and will probably perform in the finale, so practice for that is on Saturdays and Friday nights. That might conflict with her Bible study group but I'm fairly certain they can resolve that easily.
Annie and I bathed Marzipan and Smuckers so they're sweet thangs. We trimmed the hair on Marzi's face and she looks very scruffy, but at least she's CLEAN!

Sunday, Sunday and loads to do. Bill got in a "mode" this weekend and started on that stack of stuff in the Den/Office. He had two whole bags to haul away, and we're about half done.
Yesterday the sun shone and we should have mowed the lawn, but didn't. Today is rainy so it's out of the question. So is cleaning out the garage. Bad decision... we really need to get the garage cleaned out to put at LEAST one, preferably two, cars in.
September 19, 2005
Arrrgh. Monday morning 5 am blues. I went in to work for a bit last night to help with rentals after an evening flight. Turned out the flight was late, so I didn't get home until 9 pm. Not so good for me, who needed to take some serious pain relief for my back and this morning I was (am) groggy and clumsy. Oh well. Hopefully... (fingers crossed) it will be a relatively short day?!
September 20, 2005
No luck on the short day, but it was fun and not too hard yesterday. Am hoping for similar results today! It is nice to be out and get to talk to the public again and feel like I'm helping people. I have my fingers crossed, so far I haven't had a REALLY grumpy customer. Grumpy customers are a challenge since my goal is that everyone who comes to the counter when I'm working, leaves with a smile.
September 21, 2005
Hanging in there. Tonight I'm gonna crash and get some REST.
Ok, crash and rest AFTER the Cham meeting at 5 pm... In the meantime I'm getting a feel for how I can contribute to the flow of the program. That's kinda cool, after all.
September 22, 2005
Arrggh, I didn't crash until after 10:30pm, and of course my body clock didn't want me to stay in bed past about 6:30am. I am a "funny goose" as little William would say.
Anyway today I need to go pick up a USB hub for work, check on a few things there.
 |
Annie has a job interview at 1:30, and then I'll take Emily to out the "stage" arrangements for the CHAM, since she'll be dancing as a "filler" between scenes.
Has anybody seen where this month went? Didn't the girls just start classes at the university last week? They're both doing really well so far and are enjoying it! Yay! |
It's rainy today, so no cleaning out the garage. Just as well, my back is twingeing and I don't want to flatten myself doing too much. If it was an "at home" day I'd tackle my bedroom. I guess I can do that tonight and tomorrow.
September 23, 2005
I started tackling the bedroom and I think it tackled me! What a wreck! There is just TOO MUCH STUFF in there. At least I have the weekend to whittle it down!
The sun has come out but of course Bill will be gone all day tomorrow, flying. If he gets home in time maybe we can clean out the garage some. If not (shrug) I guess we just live with things the way they are. I will hope for at least enough "dry" time to mow the lawn.
Couples dance class is tonight and our practice has gone okay for the most part. I'm enjoying it; I think I'd like it two or three times a week.
Dance was GREAT and even though I am still as clumsy as ever, it was fun! We learned a lot of new stuff, which we will practice. Next week we'll have the moves written down, as each one has a name and since I can't remember my own kid's names... having them in writing will help!
September 24, 2005
Windy and rainy weather today. No lawn mowing or garage cleaning in sight. (sigh) Bummer.
I feel strangely unmotivated. That wouldn't have been so strange a year ago but for today it is ... strange. I just want to sleep a lot but when I lay down I think of cool things to do. When I get up... they aren't so cool. (sigh) Oh well. This too shall pass.
In the meantime, the new Joann's Sewing Center or whatever they call it is open and I need a pattern for Emily's halter top.
Omigosh. The new Joann's is AWESOME. They had SO much fabric. About the only thing I couldn't find was tricot, but I found something else to use, so it wasn't a disaster or anything. Their GLITTER didn't come in, of all things, so they didn't have any but I'll check back. In the meantime, I'm hoarding those Joann's coupons!!! I'm going to sew up a storm!
We hooked this back up just exactly like the one before was hooked up but it doesn't work. Could it be the switch? Or did we only THINK we hooked it up exactly like the other one was hooked up?
At any rate, we're leaving it with the circuit breaker turned off, because it's getting dark and I have to go to bed because I work tomorrow. (It's almost 8:00PM) We'll have to give it another go in daylight.
We figured out the black thick wire with three wires in it is the power source and the white ones go to the wall outlets and the ceiling fixture. We just haven't figured out how to connect them/it to the switch so the danged thing will work.

What's up with this?

September 25, 2005
Happy 5 am to you, too. (yawning) Don'cha just LOVE Mondays?
September 26, 2005
And Tuesdays?
September 27, 2005
And Wednesdays? It's just been a busy week. Tomorrow we have eye doctor appointments. I hope I don't need new bi-focals, but ... (sigh) I think it's been about three years, and I probably do ...
The light switch still doesn't work, although the wall plugs are working again after hooking things up properly... we believe it is the switch now that is the problem and will get a new one on payday...
September 28, 2005
First snow. Guess this is our "Termination Dust"? It started yesterday as rain mixed with snow. Overnight it started sticking and freezing. Wet then frozen. Ugh. Hopefully we'll be granted a reprive. We STILL have to get that grass mowed!
AND get the garage cleaned out!
Working.
