Dourte's Journal
2004
| April 2004 |
It seems to me that Alaska is aquiver in anticipation of Spring, as in "unsteady, unsure, vacillating, wavering, weak."
We are certainly ready for warm weather, so we can turn off the heat and save on electricity and heating oil. Each month seems to bring higher and higher bills, and we could use a break!
For some reason, when we were in our "early forties" we seemed to think things were going to slow down as we got older. HAH. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that we never grew up (in some ways) or simply that we refuse to believe "this is all there is." Life keeps opening our eyes to one surprise after another, and we're thankful!
In the meantime, we'll file the taxes, struggle to pay them, and enjoy all the activities of springtime with a two daughters and three dogs. Not to mention all the hoo-haa of a very involved high-school junior. And we already know next year will be even more hectic! (wiping my brow.)
