Texas Family Reunion 2004
We arrived in Washington DC exhausted, but happy to be there. As everybody knows, Deb never met a stranger, so we shared a ride to the hotel with a lady she struck up a conversation with. It was a little bit amazing when Deb introduced the lady to Annie, saying, "This lady is sharing a ride to the hotel with us." And the lady said, "How did you know my name is Cassandra?" Naturally, Deb said, "I'm clairvoyant." If you're still clueless... Cassandra was a "prophetess" in Ancient Grecian mythology... The Iliad, you know? Hm. Guess it's time to go see the movie, "Troy"?

  •           In Washington, we went to the American Federation of Teachers, or AFT, which the office Deb works for is affiliated with. There, Mr. Jewell Gould took us up to a balcony on his building, where we enjoyed a beautiful panoramic view of the city. There is a lot of construction going on for such a comparatively tiny bit of real estate. (Don't you think just about any piece of real estate is tiny compared to Alaska?!)

Down to earth, and walking around the plaza.
It's a parking lot, not a traffic jam... But what's the difference around here?
    Hi! Wave back!
Some really nice ladies from the midwest took our picture. Everyone was very friendly!
Annie should really be an official part of the Washington D.C. beautification project.
We were more than slightly impressed with the Capitol building.
These aren't even all the pictures we took.
This is a really awesome place.
Really, she wasn't born with a camera attached to her nose!
We were impressed with the blonde squirrel... I think he thought we were a couple of nuts!

Deb had a lot of fun taking pictures of Annie by the "Ghost Water."

(Annie labeled fountains as "Ghost Water" when she was a little girl in Germany.)

Even though the Reflecting Pool was drained, we thought the Plaza was really impressive.

We'd love to come back some spring, when the trees are in bloom!
    On to... Fun in Texas
